Design of a Library for the Heterogeneous Multicast Distribution of Data Flows Generated on the Fly

This paper addresses the multicast distribution of data generated on the y to a set of widely heterogeneous receivers, a common situation with collaborative work applications. It focuses on two issues: rst of all, it discusses the design of a reusable library for multicast distribution that aims at being easily linked to existing applications. Secondly , it gives some complementary results on several packet scheduling approaches and from this point of view it is a follow-up paper to 23]. We show that this library can be regarded as a platform for the experimentation of various multicast related mechanisms over the MBONE.
